MiCA, and the Question of Whether There Is Anything Here For It to Reach
Nothing on this page is legal advice, and we make no compliance claim and no claim about our own classification. Whether any of this bears on an obligation you have is between you and whoever regulates you.
What the regulation covers, in outline
Two broad populations.
Issuers, where obligations attach to offering a crypto-asset to the public or seeking its admission to trading, with heavier rules for tokens referencing other assets or acting as electronic money.
Service providers, where obligations attach to doing things for other people as a business: custody, exchange, execution, advice. Whether anything here falls in that population is a separate question and a separate page, and it is not answered there either, for the same reason.
And marketing communications, which must be fair, clear and not misleading, and identifiable as marketing.
The facts about what exists here
It is the gas of a test network, not an asset anybody holds for value.
So on the issuer side there is, on these facts, nothing offered and nothing admitted. As with the transfer rule: the regulation is not being complied with here, it is not being engaged here, and only the second sentence is true.
The unfavourable input, listed rather than omitted
A native unit does exist on a running chain, and the wallet renders a dollar figure for it.
The backend carries a configured sample price, defaulting to half a US dollar, and the interface multiplies it into a portfolio total. The per-asset detail views label that figure a sample.
A control shows the default is deliberate rather than an accident: CONTROL that shows this is a deliberate labelled default rather than an accident: for the other assets the same code returns null when an upstream price source fails, rather than fabricating a number. The behaviour is careful. The figure is still a price attached to a unit, and anybody assessing this page's subject would want to know it exists.
We are listing it because the rule this estate follows is that the unfavourable inputs belong on the page, not because it changes the conclusion. It is not our conclusion to change.
What is already built, because absences alone would misdescribe us
No price is presented as settled anywhere in this estate, and the one figure that exists in the product is labelled a sample behind a pre-launch banner.
No token vocabulary is used in the way a regulation would care about: no ticker with a currency sign, no valuation, no peg, no market capitalisation.
Those are facts about what this estate does, and they are not a claim to compliance.
What the marketing provisions map onto, and what they do not
The requirement that communications be fair, clear and not misleading describes what this entire estate is built to do, and several pages here exist because a previous version of a claim was not.
That is not compliance. It is a house style that happens to point the same way, and a page claiming the second from the first would be doing precisely the thing the requirement forbids.
