Solidus Wallet FAQ: What It Does (and Doesn't Do) Today

Can I buy crypto here?
No. No on-ramp exists. There is no Buy flow behind this product today.
Does this support Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other chains?
Not confirmed. Multi-chain balance support isn't something we assert here without engineering confirmation that the indexer path actually works in production, so we don't claim it.
Can I swap or sell inside the wallet?
No. No DEX exists behind this surface.
Is this audited?
No. An external audit is targeted for H2 2026 via NLnet NGI Zero. See the full ledger on Where We Actually Are.
What happens if I lose my seed phrase?
A seed phrase (BIP-39) is the original, single point of failure in self-custody, lose it, and a wallet with no other recovery path has nothing left to offer you. The wallet supports guardian-based recovery as an alternative to that single point of failure. Full answer: What Happens When You Lose a Seed Phrase.
What happens if I lose my device instead?
The device losing your seed phrase and the device losing your only signing surface are the same failure mode from the wallet's point of view, recovery depends on whether you set up guardians beforehand, not on which piece of hardware went missing. See Social Recovery vs. Seed Phrases.
What is guardian (social) recovery, exactly?
Guardian recovery lets a k-of-n set of people you choose co-sign an on-chain transaction that rotates your identity to a new key, the chain enforces the threshold, not a company or a support desk. Recovery is instant by design, which means a colluding guardian threshold is the actual threat model: choose guardians accordingly. A completed recovery mints a new root key, and per-verifier "remember me" relationships reset. See Security and k-of-n Threshold, Explained.
Does the wallet do KYC or identity verification?
No. The wallet is the holder of a credential, never the issuer or the verifier. It stores and re-presents Verifiable Credentials issued elsewhere: it does not check anyone's identity itself. That's a separate product, verify.solidus.network.
Can it present a credential without revealing everything in it?

Is this the same as a normal HD wallet (BIP-32/39/44)?
Keys for Solidus's own chain come from a separate, Solidus-authored derivation on the same seed. See HD Wallets: BIP-32/39/44, Explained and the lexicon entry for HD wallet.
Do you have any customers or pilots using this?
No. None exist yet, and we won't invent any.
